A case study of the manufacture an OTEC factory on a floating ship has been carried out using 100 MW Titanium material at fairly expensive cost, so system was researched copper-tin alloy. The behavior tin-copper heat exchanger between Aspen Plus simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Shell And Tube evaporators Bonnet Divided Flow fixed One-pass (BEM) types is investigated. difference in temperature water sea level 29 °C depth 1000 meters 5 assumed to produce electricity. marine thermal energy conversion power plant continuous source sourced from nature evaporator with ammonia working fluid will that can drive turbine forwarded generator. results CFD type Heat Exchanger hot inlet line 29.9 °C, when exiting shell decreases 26.4 °C. At line, enters 7.9 it leaves tube, rises 26.3 best BEM Inlet Ammonia 8 7.99 Meanwhile, outlet 28 simulation, 28.21 heating 30 29.99 While 28.15 conclusion BEM-type very good suitable for experimental prototyping.
